I reckon a really cool place to make a team would be Las Vegas. I mean they have cage fighting, why not hockey. Also, the hockey players could gamble there.
But seriously, we have an ECHL team aptly now that averages 5,000+ fans a nighttime. Not to mention all the vistors we would get to cheer on the other team. The NHL in Vegas would be a win-win for everyone
As much as I despise to repeat what others said, Vegas would be a fantastic spot for a team. People go to Vegas for entertainment and hockey is VERY entertaining. I have a feeling the seats would be filled sweet consistently. My 2nd is Milwaukee. They’d be a fantastic hockey town!
The best place to erect a new hockey team would be nowhere. As fantastic as hockey is, it does not have the national fan base to support the current teams, let alone any more. The NHL could do itself a favor and contract the league to 16-20 teams and make an additional minor league. This would concentrate the talent in the NHL and give more cities a taste of hockey at a fraction of the cost.
Somewhere in WI. I live in WI and i know ALOT of people who like hockey and were just like “wtf we have a sweet excellent college hockey team in the badgers but we dont have an NHL team, so were stuck with college hockey which isnt nearly as exciting as the NHL”
