When was the last time an NHL trade involved trading money?

    leafs got kolzig from lighting involving like 500 000 or something last year not quite sure of the details even if.

    Could be Kolzig deal but last one I remember was the 1991 Lindros trade

    There’s a trade that involves cash in February and March. I know it’s not recent, but hey, I find it fascinating nonetheless.

    I am sweet close to positive on Nips being right. I have seen it on here and heard it talked about that the current CBA does not allow cash trades, the money Tom is talking about is freed up cap space not actual cash. I judge CDN has a link to the CBA but I have not read it yet.
