What is the NHL's main objection in selling the Coyotes to Balsille?
It’s nearly a given thаt thе team wουld dο better financially аnd attract more fans elsewhere, ѕο whу аrе thеу fighting thіѕ? Thе NHL hаѕ even stated thаt іf thеу wеrе tο bυу thе Coyotes thаt thеу wουld јυѕt turn around аnd sell іt tο someone еlѕе anyway. And ѕіnсе іt seems thаt Balsille іѕ thе οnlу one whο even wаntѕ thе team, I јυѕt don’t see thе point.
The only objections are 26-0 vote, NHL can get more money for an expansion team in S. Ontario and they do not want Coyotes in hamilton.
Gary bettman will lose his job.
1) GM of NHL dosen’t want them there
2) cost of moving the team
3) They are locked in a contract
The NHL has said time and time again that they don’t reckon Balsille is a suitable owner for a NHL team. They reckon he’s too “sneaky” after tiresome to go 2 other teams up to Canada previous to this whole Phoenix business happened.
b/c hes tiresome to go a team that blows, and is in a terrible market–gosh i guess seeing teams prosper and grow w/in communities is the opposite of what bettman wants…
See the problem the NHL has now is whats vacant to happen to Bettman when JB does really get this franchise. JB will go out of his way to get Bettman fired, b/c Bettman most likely blackmailed the other 26 owners, while threating them w whatever he can. Reckon about it people…How does Bettman get his owners to favor 26-0??? Thats unheard of. There is always 1-4 people that vote the opposite way- its why we have a democracy. JB will most likely go after Bettman once he has his team, and thats where and why Bettman is putting up this fight. Bettman knows his days are numbered if JB gets this franchise, bc Bettman has been UNETHICAL throughout this entire process. ALL JB wanted and wants is a team. The NHL has been protecting Toronto for aaaaaaaaaaaa loooooooooooong time and when someone had enough ballz to try and compete w them (the hamilton saberleafs) bettman had to step in and make this fiasco…only to have it come back in his face. It’s what happens when you have a lot of $$$ like Balsille and the connections he has being the owner of Blackberry…

1) They dont like him even even if in a business sense the guy would be perfect for the league. Passionate owner, not a corporation.As for character, that just the NHL’s opinion. NHL has standard some sweet shady guys previous to..ie Del Baggio (scam artist).
2) They dont want anyone relocating teams to S.Ontario because the League will get more if and when they influence to expand there. Expansion fees are 400 million so that goes a far way.
If he went them there the NHL would be out large.
3) If the NHL allowed a team to be went via bankruptcy and the bankrupt owner to get a ton a cash back the NHL would have quite a few more owners doing just so what Moyes did.
4) Plus I really reckon the NHL doesnt want to declare failure on any “newer” team. Its the only leauge that really doesnt want to go teams even if its in the leagues best interest. NBA, NFL allows moves.
Why hasnt the Players Assoc. said anything yet? They are suppose to be partners now with the League.
That it will be an admission that the southern experiment has failed and a large part of the US market will go untapped as far as Professional Hockey goes.

Its the thought that if the team were to stay in Phoenix for a excellent period of time and they one season go to the Stanley Cup and they grab more fans then ever previous to, more then then the NBA team Phoenix Suns. Its just an thought. Don’t forget Gretzky probaly wants the team to stay where they are at.
