well a lot of players have been shifted around so it is kind of hard to tell now but people would say the rangers or the flyers heck maybe even the caps haha go caps! we’ll just have to see when the season starts

  • 2eighty8:

Don’t cheer for the “best” team. You’ll fall into the bandwagon and that’ll make you look like a total tool. Most people cheer for their home team. You could start with them.

  • Redwings 19:

Look for a player you like alot and cheer for his team. Don’t change your team every year if they start to suck. You could also cheer for your home team, or you can cheer for the Red Wings. They’ve got a mix of vetrans (players who have been around for while and can lead the team) and they have some young players too. There also sweet much guaranteed to make the playoffs every year. They haven’t missed the playoffs in like 15 years. There nearly always 1st in their divison and confrence too.

  • Dave:

    Take 288′s advice.

In these Days, Probably the Devils or the redwings because in the last 8 years, they both have 3 stanley cups and a lot of trophy!

The Devils are building a new arena easily the best in america! We Have the Best Goalie in the League we have been critisized a lot for playing defence first Hocky but dont worry this year, we have a groundbreaking new team!

Top 2 teams to chear for these days :

    1. Detroit Red Wings
    2. New Jersey Devils!

  • JuanB:

Team Canada! That always generates the most excitement and the largest parties.

  • JC:

The original six, the teams that fills the seats.

Don’t root for nashville, they can’t even give up!

  • kisconappi:

Cheer for the team in your area. Hockey is fantastic because, all teams are sweet much contenders for the playoffs(the way the point system works), and if they suck one year, they can easily become real excellent the next.

  • Mike, (Avs Fan):

Whatever you do, do NOT cheer for the Devils. They are despised everywhere they go. Do NOT cheer for the Red Wings, everyone despises them as well. You need to cheer for your home team, or if you don’t have a home team, then cheer for either the Colorado Avalanche or Pittsburgh Penguins. They have excellent young stars, and will be excellent teams for a long time. You could also cheer for the Tampa Bay Lightning, they are a very excellent team too.

  • cme:

Sit back, delight in the game, and the team you want to cheer for will come to you automatically. You’ll find yourself cheering for one team or another for your own reasons.

You can’t just point out a team to cheer for.. it’s gotta be a team that you watched and liked see play.. it comes to you naturally.. I was born in Vancouver seen a lot of games and like the way they play and I always want them to win.

  • slug-go:

Win or lose your Home Team.In my book they are all the best team, just delight in the sport, its fantastic, and that comes from a Florida boy who never knew any business about hockey till I was a foreman on a crew that built the Ice Palace for the Lightning.I was privileged to meet many players, not only the Lightning but members of other teams as well.I never met athletes of more character and skill than those guys,I was hooked1 My northern brothers who grew up with the sport may laugh at me but who cares Delight in the Sport girl ,its great1

    What is your criteria?
You want a consistent winner this century–Detroit Red Wings
You want to be the anti-Detroit–Colorado Avalanche
You like the Chicago Cubs–Tarrana Make Beliefs
You like historically fantastic teams fallen into mediocrity–Montreal Habnots.
You want loud (and sometimes obnoxious) fans–NY Strangers

But if you are vacant to pick and point out, go with the Pittsburgh Penguins as they are an exciting young team that you can get in on sort of the ground floor with. It’s much more fun to follow a team as it builds towards a Cup (or possible dynasty). Trust me Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Fleury and Angelo Esposito are worth maintenance an eye on.

  • Nexus:

Join me with Nashville. I need company ;) .

  • JK Nation:

Your teams are like your crushes, you can’t quite influence who you like. :-P

    Howdaya like that analogy?

  • simaay:

i’m in like with the san jose sharks.. they are such a fantastic team. not to mention their my home team

  • Mike G:

Dont cheer for freakin pittsburg!!! Dont join the sidney crosby bandwagon!

If you want to cheer for a team, cheer for an original six team. The orginal six teams are Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, and New York Rangers.

Most exciting teams of those are certainly Detroit Redwings!!!

  • habs86:

might sound biased but i would say montreal, because the players are very grateful to their fans even even if they haven’t made it to the stanley cup finals in yrs. their a very excellent team 2 watch play and they have lots of history as a nhl team. its the fact that they are the most legendary team that makes them incredible.

  • Tim O:

Tampa Bay Lightning Baby! Go Bolts!

  • ?avsgirl?:

    Colorado Avalanche

  • doghouse:

take the sabres —you`ll like ‘em as your team
and the fans are crazy with them

  • Bleys:

PICK MY TEAM! Because god knows there’s no better team than the one I support! Forget the fact that I was a bandwagoner when they were a dynasty or won a cup or did something else incredible, who hung on through the years because I chose I don’t like to be called a bandwagoner. Cause the team I root for is always vacant to win next year. Aptly? Aptly? Aptly…

Stop listening to biased fans spout their idiocracies. Your team will come to you, but go to some live games, you’ll prolly like the home team…

Ducks fan since 93, still have my inaugural season puck signed by Seminov… Their cool, got a defensive core that may be the best ever, if Niedermayer stays, but maybe not a excellent thought to be a fan, since you’ll never get respect as a Ducks fan…

Oh, and joining now, everyone will say you’re a bandwagoner. I’ve been called one…

  • derek is spiderman:

There is no “best team.” Everybody has their own opinion of who the best team is. I reckon you should pick maybe your hometown team. or if not, then you should cheer for the Maple Leafs, lol.
