What former NHL head coach deserves another shot?
In thе NHL, coaches аrе sometimes wrongly fired, еіthеr fοr chief a snakebitten team, a personality conflict wіth a primadonna superstar, οr thе ownership austerely dοеѕ nοt lіkе hіm. Mу qυеѕtіοn іѕ austerely thіѕ: аѕ far аѕ former NHL coaches gο, whісh one dο уου feel wаѕ wrongly fired аnd deserves another chance?
Dave Lewis.
Well, since Ted Nolan already got his, I can’t really reckon of any that didn’t leave on their own terms (Robinson and Burns I judge resigned?) or catch on elsewhere. I guess some might say Pat Quinn. IMO Dave Lewis isn’t a excellent coach. I don’t know, Bill Barber but I don’t reckon he was a fantastic coach either. Terry Murray was a excellent coach but retired. I could be a homer and say Rick Bowness. Kevin Costintine, another Sutter must be lurking?? I always like Jaques Demers.
Looking at the list, NONE come to mind as deserving.
i reckon pat burns deserve another shot, although he wasn’t fired, but left cause of cancer
Mike Milbury. He couldn’t make trades or draft worth a damn, but he could coach. Jacques Demers? That bastard can’t even read!
Brad Shaw.
Well a couple of months ago I would’ve said Claude Julien after what happened to him in New Jersey. Getting fired a couple weeks previous to playoffs even even if they were one of the top teams in the east. But now he has gotten a job with Boston so that is excellent to see
I reckon that Pat Quinn deserves another chance in the NHL as a coach because he had led the Leafs to the Playoffs every year except for 2005-06, and they were only two points out. He will get another chance, and it will be next year.
Pat Burns, Ron Lowe.
Jacques Demers, former coach with the Nordiques, Red Wings, Montreal…
Steve Kasper…just kidding. Remember when he benched Neely and Stevens? Seriously even if, I’d say Pat Quinn…kidding again. Wretched, I can’t help for myself. For real this time, I’d say Jim Schoenfeld. .509 career winning percentage, and he didn’t take any crap.
Anyone but Robbie Ftorek!
I’d like to see Pierre Maguire get another chance, if anything to get him off of network television.
Larry Robinson!
Scotty Bowman
Rather than regurgitate the ancient ones how about some new talent. I heard about this Pat Quinn guy, anyone else heard of him.
Just kidding, but Quinn sounds about the best of the unemployed.
I would say Claude Julien but he already has a job.
Larry Robinson should be a head coach somewhere.
hmm, the first that name comes to mind is Claude Julien, but he has a job now, but the timing of him losing his job was really unfair and incorrect, cause if it wasn’t for his coaching the devils would’ve never been where they were…but also i reckon Pat Quinn, i’ve always liked him, and i reckon he deserves another shot as a NHL head coach.
I know that he’s not a former head coach, but Wayne Gretzky really deserves to coach a better team than the Coyotes.
Mike Keenan….
Pat burns and kevin constantine
One guy I always liked was Rick Dudley.
