Based on the last few seasons, what do you think are the best teams in the NHL right now? I know a lot of people just support the team that is nearest to where they live, but I was wondering what people thought. Also, how do you decide? Purely by wins and losses, or by the performance of certain players? I’m looking for a team to root for.

In NHL hockey, the top 8 teams in each conference make the playoffs. The first place teams in each division get the top 3 spots.

What would happen if a division winner is not one of the top 8 teams? Would they still get a playoff spot, thus eliminating the 8th place team? Or would the top 8 teams get spots, thus eliminating a division winner from the playoffs?
I know this is unlikely to happen, but it is possible.

When I was a kid, I had an NHL poster that had all the current teams goalie masks/helmets. That’s all the poster showed and it was a cool poster. Anyone know where I can get a poster like that now? I have been looking all over and I can find individual team or player helmets, but not one that shows all the NHL’s goalies helmets.

I’ve heard the argument that the NHL should take away some teams, especially those located in the south because hockey is really not a sport that you would play in the south to begin with. What are your thoughts on this? I say that as long as the team is still making enough money to survive, the fans are watching and attending the games then those teams should be able to stay where they are.
