I used to play hockey from age 8 to 18 and i quit after that because i got sick of it and lost interest. I’m 23 now and I realize that it was a big mistake! I was really good, i had scouts looking at me from U of Michigan during high school, but i just lost interest in it and didnt have my heart into it.

I last played at 240lbs and it was a good weight for me. Right now im 6’6 and 295lbs(Did powerlifting and bodybuilding from 18 to now). Im not exactly in the best shape, but i feel that i can start to play at 260 to 265lbs.

Therefore, i need to drop 25 to 30lbs before i think about playing competitively again. I have the lifting part down. I’m very strong and im working on my flexibility. I just need tips on getting into great cardiovascular shape for hockey. Something that works the leg muscles similar to hockey, other than rollerblading(which ive been doing alot lately).
I plan on doing alot of jogging, jumping rope, and rollerblading.

My teams use to put us through plyometrics and circuit training, but i dont remember what kind of things i should do concerning the plyometrics.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Are doing all drills and moves both directions a must (of course there’s always a stronger side)?
Are there any puck passing issues from a lefty to a righty and vice versa?
Does a righty feel any different dealing with a lefty on their team or if they’re on the other team?
Lefty/righty hockey sticks?

Some lefties just end up more ambidextrous just because they live in a right-hand dominated world (sport) . . . I wondered if it were the same with hockey.
